I had reconstructive surgery on my foot after a car accident and now it is very hard to find shoes. I need a 4E width because my foot swells and is hyper-sensitive. You just don't realize how your feet effect the rest of your body and your mood. These shoes let me function even when my feet have had enough.
I usually order 1/2 sz. larger because most shoes run small for me. These ran true to size and I had to return them for my true size. No problems with return. They did take me awhile to break in with little toe blisters. I also have Plantar Faciitis and need a good stable shoe. Once they were broken in these felt good and can wear them all day. I still get foot pain but it's manageable. I ordered a second pair so I could have black for the winter.
Love this shoe - over the last three years I've bought 5 pair and I walk almost every day. Great fit, great feel, wonderful stability. My orthotics work beautifully in this shoe - foot pain and ankle twisting almost non-existent (a serious problem for me over the years that seems to have subsided with this shoe). I'm just afraid they'll stop making it.
I am a tough customer, I need support in the arch and the heel and stability. I bought this shoe mainly because I have bad knees, (one knee replacement and the other needs done) I have severe swelling of my feet and legs and heel spurs on my foot of the replaced knee (from depending on this leg so much) I was buying sole inserts and it would take me several hours to shop for a pair of shoes. I am very pleased with these shoes, they feel great and no heel pain. This shoe lives up to it's expectations! My feet feel great!!!
Merrell Pace Glove in black was my first online shoe purchase. It fit perfect and the second day I wore them was in a 3 mile breast cancer walk. Everyone said I was crazy to wear new walking sneakers without breaking them in. No problem! Just like I had worn them forever.
